Keith Safian is a senior advisor to Master Medical Network.  He brings to us benefit of over 35 years of experience in healthcare management, most recently as CEO of Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

During his 25 year tenure at Phelps he took the hospital from an 11% operating loss to being one of the very few profitable hospitals in New York State.  Over that time the operating budget increased from $40MM to $245MM and the hospital staff grew from 800 employees to more than 1,700, making Phelps the 7th largest employer in Westchester County, NY, up from 50th.  He instituted the hospital’s first residency programs in Family Medicine and Dentistry to help alleviate a shortage of providers and established a then unprecedented affiliation with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 1995, making Phelps the first non-Manhattan location for MSKCC radiation therapy and medical oncology.

He has been at the forefront of multiple healthcare technologies including as an early adopter of Electronic Medical Records and enabled Phelps to achieve HIMSS Stage 6 designation, placing it the top 2.3% of U.S. hospitals.  You can find more information about Mr. Safian at LinkedIn
